The State Wildlife Attorney Gang is a loose
confederation of attorneys representing state fish, game and/or
wildlife agencies. Our group originally consisted of several
attorneys who were members of the legal committee of the Sutheast
Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA). At our 1998
meeting in Orlando, Florida, we decided to form an email reflector to
allow us to share information among ourselves between our spring and
fall meetings.
At our meeting the next year in Greensboro, North Carolina, we decided
to open the list up to attorneys representing wildlife agencies in
other regions of the country. Since that time, we have grown to
the point that we now have reflector participants in thirty nine states
and Puerto Rico.
The Wildlife Attorney reflector has allowed us to share information on
a very near real-time basis, and given us the resources to more
effectively help our client agencies carry our their most important
missions of wildlife resource conservation and environmental protection.
We receive no financial support from any public source, but are
completely member supported. However, we could not do what we do if it
were not for the resources made available to us at no charge from
companies such as Yahoo! (for our reflector) and Google for our original Google Pages site).
About Our Site
This website was begun in early 2007 and was originally hosted through
Google Pages. Shortly thereafter, it was moved and revised to
better reflect the needs of the group. The current site was built
usingthe excellent open source or free tools, Nvu, The Gimp, and CSS Editor.
The site design was inspired by a page design from
http://www.alsonix.webpark.net. (Link now appears to be broken!) The gang would like to express its
appreciation to the many talented folks who freely provided these
resources so that some off us could actually pretend we know how to
make a website!
